Hey guys, my name's Tony(nick'd Ant-Man). I'm from AZ but am currently in OR. Have had less than 3 months' experience working with cars but I'm learning what I can. I've been lurking for a little bit and decided to go ahead and join to be able to comment and what not.
I have my dad's 97 mag king cab(Ann) and my 05 stang(Bessie), they're both good girls who are treated with TLC and I do my best not to overwork or embarrass them(ex. being dirty).
My dad actually passed last month, and we weren't on the best terms. He left me to look after 2 sisters(I'm the middle child), my mom, the house, and his truck. Sadly I don't care for this house or anything in it, and on top of that I'm shipping to the east coast via the Army.
So I'm trying to honor my dad and all he did for me by doing what I can to restore what I can, and I started with his truck.
Before I got my hands on her she was chipped, cracked, rat cr*p everywhere in the engine, major fading(we lived in AZ), tears in the upholstery, missing cup holder/overhead light, cracked mirror, scratches and what ever else you can imagine-- both interior and exterior. Original colors were forest green/grey.
I didn't have much money as my savings was smashed by trying to help my mom with debts, but after major cleaning/prepping this is what I could conjure up in the end:
(Yes I got the center cap/grille emblem afterwards, and also got a shorty antenna)

So far the total for all the restoration/cover up work has been about $350 and lord knows how many hours.
Still so much to do, but I don't think I'll have the time/money to work on her much more...
