I wonder how high the interest rate will be by the time I get my truck.....

Not necessarily... there have been a few guys on here that ordered shortly after mine that has had their trucks ship already, or they actually have been delivered. I guess it's what trim & options you ordered that makes the difference.Damn, I guess that means I'm 4-6 weeks behind your truck in production, maybe I'll see it by the end of August. I need it by the end of September...I'm retiring and we are bugging out to AZ with the 5th wheel for the winter.
I have a set of Custom wheels on mine. I'm sure they won't give me anything extra...I think I'll just throw the stock wheels with worn out tire when I trade mine in. The salesman mentioned they would put new tires on it anyway.
Nope!!! Still says it is waiting to ship. This sucks cause I know it will be at least another 4-6 weeks after it finally ships. The Mexico sun is baking the paint on there for me.@68PowerWagon Did your truck ship yet?
The 1500 have been moving at a faster rate than the HD's Shipping would likely be shorter too depending on where you live.I seemed to have came up with 4 aces in my hand, and that's not normal for me. I ordered a 1500 on 06/13/22, it was scheduled on 06/22, production started 06/30, built 07/01, shipped 07/05 with arrival on 07/27. I'm guessing timing was everything with this order, and the order sheet put it right in line with similiar builds. I've never been that lucky before on a special order. Now, if the delivery date just holds.
Damn, I really hope I get my truck by the end of September or I will have to have a change of plansNope!!! Still says it is waiting to ship. This sucks cause I know it will be at least another 4-6 weeks after it finally ships. The Mexico sun is baking the paint on there for me.
Maybe the were nice and have it parked inside of the rail carNope!!! Still says it is waiting to ship. This sucks cause I know it will be at least another 4-6 weeks after it finally ships. The Mexico sun is baking the paint on there for me.
I've shared my order story a few times, including being one of the first to expose the order tracker. Generally, the order tracker was accurate for me but it was released after my truck was built. I went from D to D1 in a day. Then the tracker was 2 weeks delayed from what Dealer Connect said. A few highlights:
- I have taken delivery of my 2500 in my profile picture. It has retractable running boards, night edition, the Cummins and a lot of the tech (The screen, cameras, blah blah)
- I ordered Feb 26. The truck was built May 4th.
- I took delivery June 18 - it was a nice Father's Day weekend for me.
I know what you all are feeling. I was on the edge of my seat for months - and then one day I got the call; it was time.
I do think the dealer buying position has something to do with it. My truck with more options requiring chips way outperformed others with lesser options. But, then you never know the shortages on other bits that are not chip related. In order to keep your sanity, I offer the following.
- Watch lots and lots of YouTube about your new truck.
- Watch more YouTube.
- Don't check the order tracker daily. Once every 1-2 weeks was more than enough.
- My delivery date was accurate. It changed once, for the worse, and then reset back again to the 18th. It actually showed up a few days before the estimated date.
Good luck guys. It's worth the wait.
This^ A half or full percentage point will make big difference on a $70,000 + truck. I plan to put a sizable amount down but am looking to retire soon and want to keep my payment downI am some what anxious about getting my truck, but I am more concerned with the interest rate going up. It has already gone up once & I am fairly certain it will go up again before I take delivery.
We share again some commonalities with regard to the stress on the cost of money. This is where my dealership really did still work with me and sold me the truck under the MSRP of the order price. But I have a theory based on nothing more than my reading, then you completely broke my theory when you said it was finished around the same time as my truck.See that just doesn't make sense to me. You had an equally equipped truck, if not more, & you have already received your truck. I ordered mine nearly a month before yours on 1/31/22. Mine is still waiting to be shipped, so I have another 4-6 weeks at best before I see mine. I could see maybe there being a few days, maybe even a few weeks difference in delivery times, but several months? Mine was built about the same time as when you took delivery. My first theory was dealer allocation but since yours has been built that might of played a small factor. I heard Sunroofs and 360 camera systems were delaying some other orders which I do not have but I felt I had everything else well equipped so felt lucky it built as fast as it did. It seems shipping can be a bit of a crapshoot.
Last, interest rates were the ONE thing freaking me out too. I don't know how to help other than I do know some banks are locking in rates now for 90 days. I would say it's somewhat safe for you to do that but there is a risk something else could cause a delay. I also went to my bank directly and brought my financing to the dealership. They will always tack a point or two on so you will always save money bringing your own. Keep us posted!
I ended up with 4.6% vs. what the dealership was quoting at 6.3 - that is a tier 1 rate if you can believe that. The hard part is we are spoiled for what the cost of money has been. I have a 0% rate on my other car so for the Ram, it just encourages me to throw all extra money at it to pay it down as soon as possible to avoid paying crazy money in interest.Well I did splurge on this truck & ordered a sunroof so maybe that is the big hold up. It's not a deal breaker so I wish I knew for sure that was holding it up I would just tell them to take that off the order. Seems like I read on here, or another forum, that a guy ordered a 2500 with a sunroof & got his rather quickly. Who knows... might be the color for all I know. I plan on talking to my local bank when it comes time to do the paperwork. I know they have given us a great rate on our house so maybe I can get a good auto loan as welll.
What term length was your loan to get the 4.6% rate?I ended up with 4.6% vs. what the dealership was quoting at 6.3 - that is a tier 1 rate if you can believe that. @P B Casterlin that is where it was weird. It did not matter. 48, 60, 72 or 84 were all the same rate. I chose 72.What term length was your loan to get the 4.6% rate?

But, if we also reflect on the more traditional cost of money, I still got a decent rate but the cost of the truck then becomes a factor. It literally is a perfect storm where the consumer is the one paying the bill sadly. We always do, but the way the dealerships go about it makes me crazy. I had a thread going when I first joined talking about my experience. The dealers here in so cal are just plain and simple taking complete advantage of people. I’m glad to have found the place in Vegas to order my truck from. It was a MINOR headache to have the truck licensed here in CA. I had to smog it, VIN inspection, and weight cert. I got my plates last week already since they work with a service that hand carries it to the DMV or me. Not bad… 2.5 weeks in CA to already have my plates. Normally takes months.
