I’ve been searching for a unicorn. Limited with 6-4 bed as my 6th ram. None in site. I need to carry 12’ boards occasionally. Anyone have any new style extenders ideas. Can’t carry the big metal one everywhere I go. The small bed is just really hard to work with. I wish ram would make the limiteds with the longer bed. I found a few Laramies but you have to take and pay for options you don’t want and skip some you do. Quite the conundrum.

Have you considered placing an order for the truck you want? Limited with the long bed is something you can order if you have time to wait for it to be built.

I have a client who’s a Ram dealer He can get me an employee number which gets me a huge discount. Waiting to ask him as to whether I can use it to order one. I have an 18 Laramie that has everything I want. Got it off the dealer lot. Maybe I’m just spoiled. 132k on it so time for a new one. Not a 911 though. Could wait for an ordered one.

Just read another post on delivery delay. That could be a problem.
Wife’s co worker and husband ordered one last year. It was a nightmare. When it finally arrived after 6 months it was all scratched up. The dealer actually gave them a loaner to drive to New York for their vacation. Re ordered and the next one was fine. 9 months in total wait time. I don’t have time for drama. Lol

Have you considered a 2500 Mega Cab? They all have 6'4" beds.

I wanna stick with the 1500. I don’t need the extra capacity of the 2500

In July 2022, I ordered a Reg Cab 1500. The build was done in August. In Dec it was still sitting in Mexico with a TBD ship date. Also no time for drama, so I cancelled the order.

Forget searching... I started in the spring. I also needed 3.92 rears and trailer tow mirrors. Beginning of June you couldn't even order a 6'4" bed.
Finally ordered in July.... arrived two weeks ago tonight.

And no... you can't have mine :D

I had to order my limited with long bed. It’s worth it. A foot doesn’t seem like much but man it’s a big difference. In parking lots too! It’s tough to park in downtown areas for sure but I would not go back to a short one.

On an ordered vehicle it just depends on the factory situation at the time, and some luck. I ordered a '24 Laramie 5 weeks ago. Just got an email from Stellantis saying it is in production now. With the strike not quite over, I didn't know they were producing anything. I take it with a grain of salt.

Dealer says that I may have my truck in 30 days. We'll aware it could take much longer.

By the sound of it there's not much of a backlog right now.

Just took delivery on Saturday of my 2024 RAM Limited 1500 with the 6'4" bed. Placed the order on July 12, so about 3 and half months. Well worth the wait for me and customized the order to my liking. BTW, the portal from RAM that shows the production timing and stages is not very accurate. Mine still says TBD on delivery and I checked this morning and it was still in by driveway :)

I ordered a 1500 Longhorn on 6/19 and it came in 9/19. Much quicker than Ford or Chevy!

Great looking truck! Is the partial wood steering wheel dead on ‘24 limited?
