Non RivNut Threaded Insert?

Hello all!

I bought some nerf bars for my 2017 crew cab. The front mounting holes are already threaded, but it’s not a rivnut. I can still see the hexagonal hole. It’s like it’s a nut welded on the back side.

I drilled out the drivers side to use the included brackets because I didn’t have a bolt to fit these threads. Long story short, I now HAVE to use these factory threads on the passenger side.

Anyone know what size they are? They are not M8x1.25 or 5/16

Do you have the Rivnut kit with the press, that seams the only way to fix it I got the Kit on Amazon P/M if you need any help.

No sir, I have the little clips that slide into the hole in the body and line up with the hexagonal holes. I lost one of the clips inside of the body, so I have no other way of mounting my steps short of using the factory threads

good find. I wish you could just get the rivnuts I only need 4.

the mopar ones have the hex shape to fit in the hex holes.

they look like the ones on a 97-06 wrangler that hold part of the fender flares on

I sell them .. they help prevent turning when installing. and allows for high torque on the threads.

those are square the ones on the rams are hexagon shaped to go into a hexagon precut hole that is already is there.
