Hey all, a little about me... I am a CAR guy. I am NOT a BADGE guy. I don't care who makes it as long as it fits my needs. I currently have a '98 F150 4x4 that tends to be my garage queen (lol) and I plan to sell it, buy my G8 GT that is my current leased DD, and use it as my garage queen (or king) :naughty: I plan to have some fun with it. Headers, cam and such and make it a reliable fun 4 door that the whole family can enjoy. :)

My hobby is detailing. I'm an Adams polishes guy and actually am one of the admin on their forum. I am into the correcting of paint. I like it to look better than new which is really FUN with a black DD. Needless to say, the RAM will be white or silver. :baby: Two kids keep me busy enough and I still have to correct my wifes Enclave every year too.

I also admin on a motorcycle forum and a G8 forum. :pp:

I am currently waiting for the newest RAM 1500 to become available to order.

My plan is to buy either a Crew or Quad cab Sport 4x4 5.7L with the 8 speed. I may go with a 4x2 depending on the residual difference.

I'd REALLY like to go with just a QUAD but am unsure if a rear facing car seat will fit back there. I have a son that will be born on 12/12/12 and a 2 year old son as well and need the room for the car seats and booster. If anyone can help, that'd be great and MUCH appreciated.

Anyway! Thanks for allowing me to be here and I look forward to learning!

welcome to RF, the crew cab is bigger than the quad cab so it will definitely be better for kids and car seats

MY BAD! Thanks for catching that. I want just the extended cab version, not the full 4 door version if possible. Less to move around is key here.

I have a car seat in the back of my crew cab and there is plenty of room. I had a quad cab rental in between trucks for about a month and HATED it with the car seat. Way too tight after being used to the crew.

Welcome!
I don't think you'll ever get a rear-facing car seat in an extended cab. The additional room of the crew cab will ALWAYS be welcome as your kids get older. My 3 and 5 year old each kick the back of our seats while sitting in their car seats... I can't imagine trying to fit them in a smaller cab.
I don't think that's what you wanted to hear, but you can't cheat physics.

Yeah, sorry for the late reply but my reason for needing a rear facing car seat came on the 8th of December. :happy3:

I've decided to get a crew cab. Like you all say... I'll regret it if I don't.

Congrats on the Jr :) Make sure we see pictures of the new babies. :) Of course the truck being one of them. Welcome!

I'm not sure anyone really cares so I'll just post them here!

One of Simon (Baby) and his big brother Eli (2 year old). This is our Christmas picture I took a couple of days ago. I think it's cute. Yes, Simon is flashing his gang signs! ;)
