so we just bought a mint 2011 Dodge Durango Citadel w/ the 5.7 Hemi...and it has an Alpine stereo in it with a sub in the back. My question is...this sub is almost useless. Even with the bass turned all the way up you can just barely hear it. Is that normal? Also...I'm not very impressed with the speakers....and I have adjusted the EQ. Any suggestions?

Did you check to see if everything was still factory? Old owner could of taken it all out and sold it with just some door speakers in it.

because its under that plastic cover you really cant hear anything. its a terrible design. it should have been put into the side panel like in the grand cherokees.

take off the cover and you will hear it.

That's not a question :)

We have a '13 R/T with the Alpine 9 speaker system and it's more than I need. It sounds great and gets very loud if you want it to.

Just like others said, visually check the speakers and makes sure it's still the factory system. You know how it is these days... kids love those stereo things and who knows, the owner might just have taken it out prior to selling it.
