Well I drove my "new" 2024 Bighorn RAM 2500 300 miles home from the dealer and the MDS light Never came on!!!
Today I drove it around town and up and down off the thruway and it never came on again. I guess it could be a faulty bulb or something but it hasn't lit up once. It is supposed to be an MDS 6.4 HEMI . I don't know enough about MDS systems to know if this could be harmful to the engine if it's designed to work with it and isn't. I know a lot of people will say I'm blessed, lol

Not sure about the newer trucks, but on the older trucks you can turn the eco light on or off in the evicc settings, maybe it's never been turned on

Congrats on your new truck. Please update your "Ram" info under your avatar so we will always know which version you are asking about and you don't have to type it every time. ;)

U do not have a MDS light U should have a ECO light. In your U Connect evic menus you can set it up whether U want it to display or not. IIRC the default is disabled. You have to go into evic Menu to enable that particular idiot light.

On my '21 Warlock, the ECO lamp display option for the EVIC is in the Uconnect 8.4C radio.
Fuel Saver display.

BTW, the ECO lamp and function is not directly related to the MDS. There are many threads here at Ram Forum, explaining and debating the relationship between those 2 systems.

Thank you everyone, I'm new to whole U connect touchscreen thing. This owners manual is about as helpful as a screen door on a submarine. I'll check it out and see if I can find it. I was hoping I got lucky and they forgot to put it in mine, lol.

My version of U connect seems pretty bare bones compared to most. I only have audio with my phone Bluetooth and no navigation screen. Just the backup camera.

Really? No "gear" icon marked "Settings"?

I saw something on another forum where you can buy a unit for a couple hundred bucks that is plug and play that will give you navigation. The downside was that SiriusXM doesn't work and it's not as loud. I may look into that . I don't use SiriusXM anyway.

He may have the base cluster and not the premium cluster in EVIC. One would assume he has at least an 8.4 RA radio in dash.

OP: Those settings in the U Conn screen with radio: EVIC displays a lil different. U have to pull manual and see where yer ECO light would illuminate, but if off, I would leave off as the MDS is built in and allegedly seamless, LOL. You will really hear it if you did some mods on yer exhaust. Sound like a 4 banger ricer when MDS engaged. See post #6.

OP: Post a pic of your radio and also your EVIC screen in dashboard so we have an idea which cluster you have, as things are organized and may display differently between a premium cluster and a Base cluster. I have a premium cluster, so my dash may be arranged differently.

Mine didn't come on for a few hundred miles. No exact milage. You hit a 1000, then get it checked.

Unfortunately the " Eco light" was shut off in the touch screen. It comes on now.

I have mine turned off on purpose. I seldom allow my truck to go into MDS mode anyway so there was no point in having the light enabled.

My '09 TRX has a 6 speed with a 3:92 rear end. If I put it in Tow mode or try to manually shift it I lose overdrive. The truck is already geared tight and rough on gas. I guess at 95k miles any bad things already would have happened. I change my oil and filter every 4k. The truck runs great otherwise. I'll see what happens with my new 2500. I am a little concerned what my oil analysis is showing with the 0W40 @ 2k . I'm changing the oil on that every 2k until I get about 10k on the Odometer.
