Have a 2 year 2025 1500 SST with 18K miles. Woke up Sat morning and tried to start, Tried 3 times and nothing. Lights going crazy on dash including power steering check. Then nothing at all. Borrowed a trickle charger from neighbor and after 8 hrs could not even get lights on dash. Unplugged IBS and then removed both batteries snd went to autozone. Just to make sure, had them charge both for 1 hour. Main battery dead as a doornail. Aux battery at 77% so decided not to replace it. Reinstalled new main and existing auxbattery and started right up. (Had Autozone check main battery just in case and was 98%). Voltage on dash showed 14.2V, but has a malfunction light on. On way to returning the charger to neighbor noticed voltage dropped to 12.5 to 12.7, but would at random run back to 14.2V and drop again. Drove to a different neighbor i ran into at AZ and he said if I needed anything come by as he had a charger that also checked battery and alternator. He showed 12.7 v but when testing alternator it would not say good or bad.
While there he mentioned he had a code reader and we pulled 2 codes
P1DB1 TCM voltage excessively low
P0562 system voltage low.
We deleted the codes and they have not come back. My guess is they were the original codes when truck would not originally start. Came home and voltage on dash reading 12.5 to 12.7. Wait a couple of hours, start again no issues but voltage remained same. Truck sat all night and cranked up. Been sitting in truck for about 15-20 minutes while running and voltage at dash showing 14.1V. Drove around neighbor for a few miles and stayed at 14.1V
Thought I might have a bad alternator but now not so sure. Have read previous threads that said sometimes have to wait a day or so for system to "reset".
What would be your next steps other than going back to autozone and have them check alternator. Trying to stay away from dealers as all are about 1 hour away and they would probably keep for 2 days before anyone even looked at it.
