What seems to be the defacto OBD-II scan tool being used for the TorqueApp? Each page I read has a different recommendation, so I thought I would reach out here. I am in Canada eh, so shipping is a consideration.

The reason I am looking for it is to start scanning codes. I have yet another CEL (YAY! :roflsquared:) and the dealer is booking me 3 weeks out just to pull the code, so I want to do it myself and see what it is.

I bought an elm327 clone from a local guy off Craig's List for under $50. Seemed to be new in plastic.

People report they are hit and miss but I have had success with mine.

Ended up with this one- for the price and it's rating with Torque and online, figured I couldn't go wrong. Most of the others were going to be significantly more by the time I got them across the border- Amazon.ca had this one in stock. Hopefully it works as well as it's rated.

I used a Bluetooth V1.5 OBD2 OBD II Auto Diagnostic Scanner Mini Adapter that I got off Amazon for $10.00. This worked great with Torque Pro on my phone. Dealer was to busy to look at my truck. I have a 2015 Ram Express. Found out the connector to Active Grille Shutters came apart. The connector located in front of radiator, just snap connector back together again. Disconnect battery for 30 minutes to reset computer. No more light. Easy cheap fix.
