I recently bought a 2017 ram 1500 3.6l, upon receiving my truck I tested the odb scanner with my scanner tool to look for previous issues. I had no power coming from the diagnostic port. I brought my truck to Firestone for emmisons and asked them to fix my odb scanner beforehand. They said they fixed it and I brought my truck home and checked the port again to find it still wasn’t getting connection. I brought the truck back to Firestone and told them I needed it fixed so I could scan codes on my own and complete my own repairs. Again they had my truck for hours, they called me to tell me there was a lot of corrosion in the fuse box where my odb harness was. They cleaned it up and had me pick it back up. Again I tested it and nothing. I called and complained because I payed $600 dollars for them to fix it and nothing was fixed.
They are now telling me I may need the whole Tipm harness which can be very pricey.
I need some help on this matter and if anyone has advice on how I can fix this issue at home and what parts I can get to make it a permanent fix. Or if I’m out of luck and need a professional to fix it. ???
