Below is the replacement Toyo Open Country AT 3 now on my Ram 1500. (Much more suitable for gravel roads, snow & mud.) Will provide more detailed feedback after I drive them for awhile, but the Toyos are surprisingly quiet on highway, comparable to the useless, at least for my purposes, original equipment 2 ply passenger car tires. The Wrangler Fortitude HT that came with truck are pictured below.

So what was it about the Duratracs that you hated so much. I have run them for years on my Rams, but most of the miles are not on pavement, so for my use, I like them. There are thousands of oilfield and logging pickups running Duratrac too. If it was mostly highway use, probably not as much.
they don't balance well, they're really loud and they puncture easy.this is just my experience and this may not be anyone else's case but for me they're a horrible tire.I've had them on 2 different ram 2500's and i just hate them.

You'd think a dealer could take care of that for a customer instead of having the factory force the cheap crap down our throats.
the first set i had were on a fleet lease return truck i was purchasing.they were brand new installs and they wouldn't budge on swapping them and i really wanted them off my truck.i was 100 kilometers deep in the middle of nowhere when I shredded a rear tire while we were camping/fishing.we ended up driving 8 hours round trip to get them off my truck and replaced them with a set of grapplers.I just knew they were crap and were going to fail me,and they did, spectacularly.I'm on truck #8 with an average of 3 sets per,not including snow tires and that's a lot of different tires, too many to remember, and goodyears have consistently been the worst tires.
