On my 2015 1500 CC Laramie, I have notice a blink/flicker every now and then on my projector headlights. It's not a complete off/on, more like a supper quick dim and back. It's not all the time either, more like once every now and then. Cant seem to find a pattern, maybe when the ac compressor kicks on. Is that normal?

If you are currently keeping your climate control on auto mode, it is very possible that the AC compressor kicking on will cause a quick dim of the lights. It can be similar to leaving the headlights on when the engine is off, then starting the engine. Usually you will see the headlights flicker or dim during the starting process.

This results from electrical power fluctuations in the system. When your AC compressor kicks on, a relay is triggered which engages the magnetic clutch. This requires a surge of electricity which can be visually seen as a quick dimming of the headlights. Or sometimes you will get a quick dip in the engine RPM's as well if at at idle.

I don't have projectors (I have the quad headlights), but mine also does something like this. It's just like if I have the AC on and the compressor kicks in causing a slight and momentary dimming, but it happens even if all the climate control stuff is off. I don't notice it driving down the road, only when stopped behind a car, facing a building, etc.

My 16 quads do it too, never noticed it on my 13 projectors but they did make the canbus a bit more advanced for 15 and up so might have something to do with that

My 2015 ram sport with projectors does this also since day one. Besides the fact they really suck on hwy especially in dark. Not very safe as I'm in hwy most times. Especially if it's wet roads or even a light rain. My older 2012 with quad headlights with Sylvania silverstars made a huge huge diff to see much wider out in deer season. I put the Sylvania zxe in these projectors and not a diff. I had dealership re-aim as they said they did but I still see zero change. Again also flicker constantly. I thought it might be off of fog lights with a weak thin bracket or such but without fogs on I would be screwed seeing somewhat of the road. There should be a recall or free replacement for this since I would think headlights do make for a safe driving environment????
