So there's a guy on the local-ish FB whose selling an oem radio. Like most on there these days there's barely any information other than '13-18, 8.1 radio'. Obviously he typo'd because I've never heard of an 8.1"..

I've got a request to him for pics of the labels on the back AND to make sure it's not locked... but I thought I'd ask here too just in case. I've looked into these a bit but I have no personal experience in swapping them yet. My existing radio is an 8.4 RA3.
Because this appears to have been pulled from an SRT so likely a Challenger or Charger, there should be no compatibility concerns yeah?

I honestly wouldn't even waste my money on that if you already have the Ra3, all you are going to gain is an outdated nav map.

You would be musch better off doing a conversion to a newer unit that has car play/androind auto.

I agree with @mtnrider, the radio pictured is an RA4 (No CarPlay or Android Auto). Looks like it's in a Ram though, the SRT branding is the default for those radios when power is removed. Once it reads the BCM it will change to RAM branding (he likely reconnected it real quick to get for sale pictures after an upgrade).

I assume updating maps on 'older' Nav units is either tricky, or impossible without buying the updates? I've never looked but should have.

FYI ...
UK Navi Expert on eBay had listings to get you the Nav unlock code for your Ra3 radio and the map updates. (May be better of with a 4c radio upgrade? Maybe not. Depends on what you want to accomplish).

Nav unlock

Nav update:

Or Nav Update from uConnect site (must be on SW v18.xx.x) ... ~ $150

You have to buy them and they are not cheap. Not only that but buying a "hard map" on CD is always going to be outdated so even if you bought the newest map version available today It's probably at least 2+ years old.
