I am in the same situation as most here and it seems like noone really likes the HP and SRAs. I have 32k on my 2012 and the HPs low. Around 4/32. I could barely back over the lip of my driveway without slipping.

I priced out new HPs and they are $135 each installed. So its hard to pass up but I dont really want to be slipping everywhere just to save some money. Are A/T tires the way to go?

For traction and looks, yes they are totally worth it. However they are more money and most A/T tires will lower your fuel economy by 1-2mpg due to their increased weight and rolling resistance.

Yeah I figured that.

Anyone have any luck with Cooper AT3 for the 20inch wheels?

The stock SRA's must be a case of "some good ones and some bad ones". I'm not commuting to a job every day. Hence I just turned 7000 miles after owning the truck for 7 months now. I have taken a few trips with the most recent from Houston to the Georgia coast and back. The tires on mine seem to handle really well with rain, hot and cold, and at highway speeds in rain. I rotated them 2 weekends ago and the wear is almost non-existent. Just my 2 cents and when the time comes for new, I am partial to Michelins.

I chalk it up to people wanting new tires and needing an excuse to talk themselves into spending the money. When its time for new ones I'll probably go with BFG or Cooper but I have had no problem with the stock tires on my '14 Big Horn. Just had 2 feet of snow here in NY a couple weeks ago and I had no problem getting around. I have a 70 mile round trip commute and my truck rides like a car. Again, I wouldn't pick them but I think the complaints are exaggerated.

Some people do exaggerate yes, but some people have higher standards than others too. I hated the sra's on the rental 1500 I had. I needed 4wd to get anywhere in the snow and in any slush or snow on road the traction control would kick on. I would tough it out if they were on my truck and I didn't know they sucked until it was too late to get credit for them, but if I were to buy a truck that I knew they would be on part of the negotiations would be getting different tires.

I certainly did not plan on having to purchase new tires at 24,000 miles after 42 months. The Goodyear HPs had very little tread left. I have always been very easy on brakes and tires. It may have been a bad batch, but none-the-less, the tires only lasted this amount of time and distance. I will be hard pressed to buy another new truck with Goodyear HP's given my last experience. If I remember correctly, my son's 2010 had about 27K miles when his Goodyears were replaced.

This has been my experience with Goodyears in the past as well, they wore out way too soon. At 15000 miles my SR-As were over half worn and I was always easy on them. Had Goodyears on the Mustang GT I used to have and they wore out prematurely as well

my step-father gets a new Ram every 3 years (2008, 2011, and now a 2014) and has replaced his tires at about 20,000-25,000 miles on each. they still looked like they had another 10,000 left but to him they were bald. my 2007 had about 45,000 on it when i traded it and the tires still had tread but were ready to be replaced. my 2013 had 40,000 on them when i replaced them but i get all i can out of them. i could have got about another 5000 on these ones but it was nearing winter and i drove 100 miles a day to and from work

also, i put cooper AT3's on my wifes commander and they have been great. not 20's obviously but the grip and wear is fantastic
