Anyone actually use their RAM's to go 4x4'in for fun ?. I mean aside from a dirt road trail to vacation / hunting spot or something like that. Actually going out and hitting a Mud Hole, or Trail just to get the truck dirty for fun ?

I dont really see it discussed much on the forum, or im blind lol.

Anyone have some action shots ? or video's ? even youtube is hard to find some 4th gen 4x4 love. Thought there would be alot more then what I found.

well while hunting I came across one heck of a mud hole that almost scared me but had no issues, was by myself so no pics or vids unfortunately, I don't find the transfercase as bad as they say, I feel engage initially upon first slip and after that seems to stay engaged, I was playing around coming to a stop and giving it a shot of gas and the only time I felt the engagement was the first time I put in 4wd, and I do have the on demand case

The only time I ever get to use 4x4 is during the winter, and thats only if im heading up hill in snow. Most of the time I leave it in 2wd, and turn off the traction control for more fun lol.

some of my jeep buddies are talking about a wheelin' trip up to Rausch Creek this winter. Wanted to hear some members experiences.

Ya traction off is first thing i hit, even if im going down the road, its second nature to me, hate driving with it on especially in the winter, but back to main topic i would also love see some pics or videos of our trucks in action, if i come across that hole again ill find a way to record it

It's usually a 5-7 year timeframe until people decide to finally "Wheel" their rigs. Usually coincides with either the end of the Payments or the "It's old enough to start beating on" logic.

Does doing donuts in Panamint Valley count? It's technically all dirt road/vacation. ;)

1st day. Picked it up from dealership during biggest recent downpour then while driving through the canyon we had a rock/mudslide. Put it in 4wd, drove the hell out of there ASAP. Still had the Monroney on it. :D

lots of unmaintained dirt roads here and paths through our fields that get pretty muddy require 4x4, hell even my driveway can get really bad. mainly wanted 4x4 for winter but it's nice to have all the time even if i don't use it a whole lot

Just some fun playing out in the desert... no serious off-roading yet!

well today was the first time I really noticed that chatter from the transfer case, going slow up a wet clay hill, still had no issue making it but the chatter of the engage/disengage is really annoying, sure would be nice if there was some aftermarket programmer or whatever to keep it fully engaged when in 4lock or low, nice vid by the way

If you havent wheeled Rausch Creek I suggest you find out what trails they are hitting!!! There are some tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight turns that no way these full size trucks are getting through, would be interested to see one hitting those trails though, I used to go with my Commander a few times

Andrew09HEMI,

we would only be doing the light " green " trails up there. Just enough fun to spin the tires, and get some mud on truck / jeeps, nothing crazy. We all have relatively stock vehicles with the exception of one - ( 35's, BDS Lift, 4.56 gears, Bumpers, Winch etc etc. ). Plus these are all our DD's so we want to be able to get home lol.

I'm with you, my tearing up my rig days are past :) good dirt roads only...lol end of one at 9500 feet...

This^^^

I bought mine so I could get to my hunt/fish camps. Not to tear the crap out of it. I don't mind exploring the deserts and mountains but always on some form of road. I never blaze new trail.
