My Thread that shows my 20x9 -12 offset craigslist specials.
Tires are 275/65/20 Duratracs. Sticks out a little more than an 1" with those tires. Tire width will matter on how far out it all ends up.
This is an awesome link that I played with a lot while making up my mind on tires.
okay, I am going to tag onto this thread. I am trying to pick some new wheels and tires.
currently the truck has 305/55/20 Nitto Terra Grapplers and the best I can tell the wheels are 20X9, -12mm? offset, ~4.5" BS (board and tape measure guesstimation) Truck also has a HBS 2.5" leveling kit
Because of the current wheel/tire combo, I have Bushwacker Pocket Flares to be installed on the truck, now the owner drops on me that he wants new wheels. The tires poke out of the fenders about 2"
for tires: I don't care for the 12.X" wide tire on the 9" rim. Truck will never see off-road conditions and gets alot of highway time. I am thinking of going with a 275/65/20 to be a bit taller, but narrower. maybe a bit lower rolling resistance and possibly reduce the 94 pound rolling mass at each corner. maybe going with the Nitto again or also looking at Toyo OC A/T II. I like the look of the Trail Grapplers and Toyo OC M/T, but for the extra cost and less on-road performance, it's hard to justify the look.
for wheels: owner has showed interest in Fuel Dunes, Fuel Hostages, and Ballistic Jester. I am thinking of staying with the -12 offset so they don't look "sunk in" in the pocket flares. However, I think the hostages or the only ones available with a -12
need opinions and comments (sorry the long post, tried to cover is all at once.)
