Are the oil life and fuel filter life gauges based on usage or just mileage?

Ram Oil Change Light Reset (2009 – 2018)

1. Turn the key to the on position with the engine off or if this is a push to start truck, press the ignition button once but do not start the engine.
2. scroll to the vehicle info screen in the gauge cluster display.
3. Scroll to the oil life screen.
4. Press the right arrow to reset.
   
   
   same as the fuel filters
