DEF fault

took my truck to the dealership at 30,193 miles, because the check engine light came on and DEF filter full ,power reduction mode . they called and said that all the codes were because i was not servicing it ; oil and filter every 6500 miles with mopar oil filter ,and rotella t6-5w30 , fuel filters were changed at 18,000 and air filter at 20,000 .my question is how does whether the oil is changed and air,fuel filters effect the DEF system ?
they want 150 dollars diagnostic fee and wanted 550 dollars for filters and oil change , told them id change myself .

DPF, not DEF. DEF is the fluid that is injected into the SCR, DPF is the particle filter.

Dealer is full of crap, there is no "service required" for the DPF. You are changing the oil at less then half the recommend interval. Find another dealer, that is 100% a warranty issue.

With that said driving a modern diesel (with emissions) as a grocery getter will cause problems.
