Drain the oil

Remove the pan

Replace gasket( add RTV to corners)

Install pan again

Get bolts lightly snugged

Torque bolts in a star pattern( not sure what the Torque specs are)

Then in a row

Fill to 7 quarts.

Also not sure if you have to remove anything. It doesn't look like anything will be in the way.

Thanks, I guess I should have been more specific.. yes, looks pretty straight forward. Guess my question is do I need to remove any cross members or other parts. Have seen a few videos for the 4x4 but haven't found a good one for 4x2.

I don't know about the 5.7 but the oil pan bolts for the 4.7 are M6 x 1.0 and torque to 105 INCH lbs.
The pan bolts are 110 inch-lbs (~9.17 ft-lbs) for the 2006, so I'm pretty sure yours would be the same. You want to get this right or you could have leaks from a warped pan. A guy I worked with replaced the pan gasket on his Shivy truck and never could get it to stop leaking. When I asked if he torqued the bolts to spec, he pretty much said that tightened them and then gave them a good ugga dugga (paraphrasing). Obviously, his continued leakage was because he warped the pan lip, probably had closer to 40ft-lbs than however many inch-lbs it actually needed given that he was a rather large man.

I recommend downloading the factory service manual for the 2005, you will find all the torque specifications and procedures necessary to work on your truck there. AND it is free to download from this site.
