Open space above glovebox?

I understand there is an insert you can buy to fill the open space above the glovebox. I found a few on the net, but any recommendations?

Do you all like it after having it a while?

The new upper glove box and door are expensive but in my opinion a worthwhile addition. It just could not stop looking at the giant hole in the dash. It was one of the first mods I made to my '15 Tradesman.

The higher trims have it covered and oe parts are the way to go for replacement. I don't keep much in mine, but still prefer it closed up.

The upper glove box and light was the first thing I added to my Express as well. I couldn't stand looking at the hole in the dash. Unfortunately the kit is pretty expensive for what you actually get and they are hard to find used.

I did it in my 2012 Tradesman. Overpriced but worth it because it covers that damn hole and makes it look finished. I HATE clutter, so that opening was useless because I wouldn't put anything in it.

Echo above, first mod I did to my 2018 2500. Bought my parts in ebay, was super simple to do.

When I first bought my 2018, I wasn't sure about that cubbyhole, but grew to really appreciate it. The only problem was things would slide around or go flying out when I turned a corner, so I put some non-skid toolbox liner in it, and now it works great.

I don't keep things stored in there, but sometimes I get in the truck with something in my hand, and I can just throw it in there temporarily. Could be a bundle of mail, or a Subway sandwich, or any number of things. Also makes a nice shelf for passengers to set a phone or anything they wish. But without something on the shelf to stop things from sliding, it's useless.

I flip houses as a sideline, so I happened to have some left over grey carpet that perfectly matched my interior. I precision cut it and it makes a great liner for the compartment. Nothing slides at all.

Go to car-part.com. It’s like eBay for junkyards. You can find it there for a very good price. I got mine for like 35 bucks.

I personally prefer the hole. Its too far away from the driver to be useful but is perfect for passengers to store stuff outside of the drivers reach. I don't remember the last time I ever had a passenger put something in a glove box...

I’ll keep the opening also. Little piece of rubber inside helps hold my wife’s cellphone and sunglasses and other **** haha keeps it all out of my areas

Now my 2019 Classic comes equipped with this storage area. I find it incredibly convenient! I have a roll of paper towels and extra masks and what not in there for easy accessibility.

I bought an upper glove box kit for my RAM . The chubby hole is ok and has an old school look to it but the kit gives it a more finished looked . I am glad I changed it out.
