So long story short: While driving home from work, I caught a leaf spring on the roof of my truck. It came from a passing vehical towing a ragged old trailer. I saw it flying in the air as I sat hopelessly in traffic, waiting for it to come down on me. My goodness was it loud.
It left a pretty small indentation but broke the paint and has already begun to rust. Being a relatively flat surface, it will hold a little standing water.
Would you pay a $500 deductible to get it repaired? I haven't taken it to any shops just yet to get a quote. Also, it's pretty much out of sight, out of mind. I just don't want to regret leaving it be years down the road.
