Ordering new Ram

Given the marketplace for used Rams, I’m considering ordering a new one. I’ve never ordered a new vehicle. What is the process? Are there any discounts/negotiation like with a new vehicle off the lot?

I’m finding that I have so many “must-haves” that nothing used or new is meeting what I want. And, the used market is insane, I’m finding 2 year old 2500’s selling for a few hundred bucks under original sticker, if not more than sticker!

So, what is the process, how does it work? I’m looking for a 2500 6.7l with tow package, 8.4” Uconnect, Ram boxes, technology package, in blue with spray-in bed liner, amongst other things.

Talk to the dealer. They can build your truck on the computer in front of you and tell you what you can and can't get and the approximate timeframe it will take to actually take delivery of it

First of all, you may not be able to order a 2021 Ram

They usually cut off factory ordering in May or June of each year

You may be able to order a 2022 Ram
The 2022 Ram 1500 5th Gen model may begin production in mid August

If i lived in Las Vegas, i would do some homework & check out dealerships such as the 2 Big dealers up in Idaho
Dennis Dillon & i forget the other one
Customers fly into Idaho to get good deals

IF they can get some microchips before too many months
There are Tens of Thousands of 2021 Rams waiting on those chips

Also Bud Clary in Washington and Mark Dodge in Louisiana, seemed like 2 of the only dealers in the country still offering a good dealer discount.

Looks like there are a bunch of trucks sitting in Wentzville, MO that probably won't be driven. Assuming the controllers aren't in the crumple zone, pull them out and put them in new trucks.

You need to order the truck with what you want. It's how I do all my trucks.

Looks like he's asking about ordering a 2500, so this doesn't apply. From what my dealership told me, HD's production year is about 6 months behind the 1500's, so I'm pretty sure you can still order 2021 2500's at this time. But He really should contact a dealership to get answers to his questions.

Go to a dealership and also ask them if you are going to be able to get everything you want because right now with chip shortage you may not. It also may take longer to get it.
