We started our Thanksgiving Trip going a completely different route then we normally go. We decided after our Thanksgiving trip last year to start it in Marble Falls. We stayed in a really cool house built in the 1930s right off the square. We enjoyed the view of Lake LBJ and the small town feel. We had some amazing food. Yes @turkeybird56 we went to the bluebonnet cafe for breakfast and they all got a slice of pie. Monday we went to a place called Dead Mans hole. Interesting spot that has a marker. We then went to The Falls on the Colorado River Museum. We learned all about the town. We then went to our retirement spot in Lago Vista on Lake Travis for Thanksgiving week. The sunrises and sunsets are always different and the views are amazing. We enjoyed some much need relaxing. We ventured to the other side of the lake to a restaurant called the Oasis. We have been wanting to go there to see the view for about 5 years now, we just always tend to stay put once we get there. Thanksgiving we spent it over looking the lake. I got to read a really good book. Its about the only time that I get the chance to stop long enough to enjoy reading. We left on Friday and went back to civilization and let the wife do some Black Friday shopping. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.

Nice lil trip, hopefully U all had a good time and a chance to decompress from all your pressing family issues, and had a Great Slice of Pie, lol.

that's a nice trip. hope you had a chance to get some bbq at Opies in spicewood. from the pics it looks like the lake is not as low as last time we were there. that whole area is really nice. we had property next to spicewood vineyards for nearly 40 years . love the area.

Not soooo long ago they were offering lots off of Lake Travis, unimproved for 79K. I kept getting calls and ads for it.

We were only in Marble Falls for two days. We ate at Super Taco, The Bluebonnet Cafe, Adriano's, and Jardin Corona. We didn't venture into Spicewood, but its on the list next time. I think we may stay in Horseshoe Bay next time. The lake in Lago Vista did look better, but for the past 3 years the island on Lake Travis is no longer and island. I did look probably 5 or so feet higher. We love that area. The goal is in 10 years when we retire we are moving to that area. Not sure what town we will end up in, but that is the plan.

Good luck with that now. The cheapest lot I saw was 300k. Marble Falls has some excellent deals on houses there. We could sell our house now and easily move there and still have money left over to do any remodeling we wanted to do.
