I've got a 2012 6.7L Diesel, 6sp auto trans. When I haul a moderate load (2 horses, 7,500lb total payload with vehicle + trailer) up a slow hill (7° grade plus going only 25 or 30mph because of turns) trans temp keeps rising. I've been up to 244°. Clutch fans works great on engine temp, but doesn't touch trans temp. SAE.org says 2013 model fixes an "engineering bogey."
My questions:
1. Do 2013 clutch fan and trans oil coolers retrofit onto my 2012 truck?
2. Should I instead look to aftermarket trans oil cooler and/or deeper, finned trans pans?
3. Am I just being a big ***** and 244° is not yet in the trouble zone?
My first post. Thanks in advance for the help.
