My front parking sensors, specifically the left front on the corner, has decided to indicate that I am ready to hit something constantly. The truck had been parked for a day and was fine when I parked it. When I started it up the sensor was squawking. Cleaning it did no good so I turned off the front set. After a few days I tried it again and it is still on. I have a bumper to bumper lifetime so I'm not concerned about repairs but I wondered if they are prone to trouble or if I have an anomaly. I have experienced issues from time to time, but wiping the sensors off was all I needed to do. This one is different. Are they prone to water issues?

Mine will do this if I go through a car wash in the winter (or have ice on/in it). It will take a day or two of warm enough weather to melt all the ice off of it. It can appear to be clean of ice on the outside, but apparently there still is more on the inside.

Have you been over 35 degrees (it has to go above 32 for some time) since the issue started?

My front R is doing the same thing...stupid thing is iced over and there's not much I can do about it. I just landed up turning it off for now. I've only owned the truck for a few weeks and already, I've had a few of them "jam" on me. It is what it is, but figuring it's -1 outside and we're getting dumped on with snow, AND it's not supposed to even hit the freezing mark in the foreseeable future, I'm just going to have to live with it.

I've had a couple of flaky incidents but they have either fixed themselves or were taken care of by cleaning the sensors (had bugs on them or snow/ice). At least they can be turned off when they act up. I bought my truck off the lot and I didn't think I really cared for the park sensors or rain sensing wipers. Frankly, I had my doubts about how the wipers would work in reality. But both features have really been nice to have. I no longer have to run into my garbage can in the garage half the time to know I'm in far enough.

Mine do this in our sub zero Canadian winters. If I really get annoyed I'll go out with the wifes hair dryer and get them warm which normally restores function, or in a few cases I've valeted the truck at the local Casino where it gets parked in a heated garage for a couple hours while I get dinner.

Unfortunately besides finding your preferred method of thawing, not much else to do besides switch them off until temps go up and try and drive like it's a 3rd gen.

Just got a new 17 that has the sensors. Didn't have them before. They are definitely sensitive. I live in WI so they get messed up a lot with winter slush getting sprayed on them. Hair dryer works. I'm glad they turn off since I have a friend with a '13 GMC that don't turn off and every time he slows down it starts beeping at him.

I have never had them ice up and not work right. I only have an issue with mine if it is actually snowing, doesn't care for snowflakes.

I really wish I didn't have them. Went years without running into stuff without them so they're not needed. Bugs, mud and snow pretty much make them useless most of the year for me and the front ones get wrecked from stones as they sand the roads in the winter. I spend a small fortune getting them all working every summer because I don't want the warning chime at start up. Might try to get them programmed out on the new truck and just get them programmed back in and repaired when I go to sell it.

Have an off button front and rear, but they reset to on every time I start the truck and even if they're off they'll chime to say they're malfunctioning. As I never use them i'd rather they were just permanently disabled until I go to sell it as I know some people like them.

I can say that mine stay off when I restart the truck. From what I can see the problem is widespread so the dealer will only be able to give me the service department shuffle when I bring it in! I'll post the results if/when they happen!

x2 for my 2015. When I picked up the truck they were off, I didn't realize it, and turned it on the next day.

Perhaps on my new truck they'll stay off. I'll have to double check next time I drive it. I know on my 11 they don't.

They should stay off when you turn them off. This is also a feature for towing so you can turn off the rears and they will stay off even when you turn off the truck.

Never tested the fronts really but I have needed to turn my rears off when towing something and they did not come back on automatically when starting the truck back up.

x2. I just did a 2k mile trip towing a car from NY to FL and another car from FL back up to NY in one weekend. I turned off the rear sensors as I pulled into the U-Haul lot to pick up the trailer, and turned it back on as I dropped of the trailer. Stayed off for the full weekend.

I have a toolbox behind my truck and a crew cab with the 6'4" box so to be able to walk around the truck I have to be in a pretty specific spot. I use the old tennis ball on a string trick. When the tennis ball hits the back window I'm in the right spot.

Mine have been going off every time it’s below 32*F ish. It’s frigin annoying. I wish I could just disable it. They can be turned off inside with the buttons below the temp knobs and they will shut off automatically once u get over like 3-5mph.

Mine go off whenever there has been a significant rain, always left front, and whenever I slow down for a stop the sensor goes off. It is quite annoying as it mutes the phone call or radio to sound the alarm. I need to be on the phone with clients all the time and so if I stop at a light or stop sign it cuts them off.
Talked to dealer about it twice. They say they have to catch it in the act, so I called when it was doing it and wanted to stop in, and they said come at 4pm, which I could not do.
