After a successful passive entry install, the fob buttons do not work. No remote start, lock, or unlock. ???

Who's installation instructions did you follow?

Did your FOBIK's work properly before the install?

Have you had it programmed to work, or doesn't it need it
That was my thinking. I remember reading another thread about this and thought there were some programming steps too.

Everything was factory before the install. I did the install and had the dealership flash the computer. After the flash is when the key fobs (2) stopped working on the truck. The dealership says that the truck is seeing the signal from the fob, just not responding. They did verify that the fobs are programmed to the truck. It has to be in the programming somewhere, just wondering where and how?

TIA.

Did you install a new RF hub with the install? Did you truck have push button start from the factory? I see from your avatar that you have a 5th gen. I did the keyless n go upgrade to my 4th gen 2018 BigHorn and used AlfaOBD. My fobs had to be specifically programmed to the RF hub so I’m assuming the dealer left out a programming step unless the 5th Gens are different. Have you tried the fobs again lately? I programmed three fobs initially and only two accepted, the third failed twice but a day later it magically worked without trying the programming again.

I may be confused, can we get some clarification

This is the 5th Gen Ram section

Your signature reads 2012

also is your ignition Push Button or the kind the FOB is inserted into

I agree that it's helpful to keep our truck information up to date. Judging by his avatar he has a 5th gen. If so he has pushbutton. All 5th gens have pushbutton start as far as I know.

If the fobs worked before the dealer programmed the passive entry then it's on them to fix it since they obviously did something wrong. Getting them to admit to it is a different story.

I would verify what the dealership did to add the feature. They may not have added the right sales code as it is getting harder and harder to get things added at the dealership level.

I bought this kit and it's sitting in my garage:

There's some info on there about what needs to be done software-wise to correctly add the features. I would confirm the sales code and how they added it (seems they cannot do it on their own anymore) or if they took your money and just went into the BCM and tried to do the settings themselves.

Just my .02

My 2020 ram just started this today. I can lock the truck from inside but the passive entry and fobs do not work all the time. Its a hit and miss type of thing. It is all factory installed before I bought the truck. Should I take it the dealership and see what is going on?

Your passive entry should always work but it doesn't take much to interfere with the fobs (including your phone in your pocket). Does it always happen in the same place?

I'm not sure what "factory installed before I bought the truck" means. Did it roll off the assembly line with it or did a dealership install it? If it's on your VIN (window sticker or build sheet/equipment list) then it's covered. If a dealership installed it and there's record of it (OEM parts and installed/activated by a RAM service department) then it should be covered under warranty. Anything else would be considered aftermarket.

If you're under 36K miles definitely take it to the dealership and let them figure it out on FCA's dime.
