PCM swap possible?

Basically I am wanting to know if I could swap PCMs between 2 different trucks? 1 truck is a 2017 ram 1500 with and unlocked PCM and the other truck is a 2016 ram 1500 with a locked PCM. Both have the 5.7 engine and I am basically pulling all the performance parts/engine from the 2017(crew cab) truck and installing on the 2016(single cab).
Any info would be appreciated!

You cannot just swap and run. The incoming PCM has to be flashed by a dealer to the truck's Vin no.
Some have done the swap and used AlfaOBD to make it compatible with the truck's Vin no.
