Photoshop Help & Tips?

I just got Photoshop CS5 on my computer today, and have been messing around with it. What are some useful tips while using photoshop? I've got down the selection with quick mask mode, and have started playing around with filters. The things I need help on are things like changing the color of bumpers and wheels. I tried a few things and some came out all right, but others just looked terrible and splotchy or completely fake.

I just started playing with photoshop too and am interested in tips as well
Still working on masking things, I can do it but it doesn't look all the great usually.
For changing colors of a grille I masked it as a new layer then in the layers drop down I did a solid fill. Then choose from color burn/hard light/soft light etc to see how close you can get

layers, layers, and more layers. Anytime time you want to change/add something add a new layer. Also starting with high res pics helps when resizing.


I would just go and search for tutorials. Thats how I learned somethings
