I was driving my ram the other night and as i was turning into a parking lot the power steering starting feeling like it would work and then stop. So i checked the fluid level and it was about half way so i topped it off at a gas station and by the time i was about a mile down the road it was almost empty. Does anybody have any clue what might it might be? I have noticed a few little spots in the driveway where i park but nothing major. My buddy had a ram and said his did the same thing and that he had to replace his power steering gearbox. Does that sound like what it might be? Keep in mind it did just roll over 280k and i do believe it is the original motor also.

With spots on your driveway, I would say you have a leak. Clean everything up real good, fill the tank, start the truck turn the wheel a few times a look for a leak. Hoses, gearbox, power steering box, or hoses. The power steering does not burn fluid.
