Protecting button label/graphics?

Sitting here in traffic staring at my window buttons I am wondering has anyone coated theirs to protect the… whatever you call it, printing. From being rubbed off by usage? Maybe a thin layer of epoxy?

For one, I’ve had a LOT of old, high mileage and abused rams and I’ve never seen the tiniest bit of wear on the window button print. For two, if it does wear it’s $30 and 30 seconds to replace.

I’ve always thought there should be some sort of rain protection, something to keep it from flowing through the switch.
We get a lot of rain in Florida, it makes me wonder how many failures are caused by the water.

Clear fingernail polish/paint or whatever it’s called , would probably do a good job preserving the writing.

I would test a small area on a rear door switch for complications .

This isn't a GM or an Audi. I've never seen the buttons wear on any Ram I've ever owned. I wouldn't worry about it. You're likely to do more harm than good. Use a good quality interior cleaner to keep the buttons clean and call it a day.

Keeping them clean is the main thing. Then protected. I have both our DD’s interiors coated with UD Pro and my Flex is 6 years old and non of the bottoms have any sign of wearing. Same with my wifes jeep except for one in the rear but that as the dumb kids not Jeeps fault there.
