I’m fix’n to order my new ‘19 PW with the intent to do a lot of 4x4 off-road trips that will stress the PW to the max. Of course I’ll be doing some upgrades to the PW before I do too much. I have a fair amount of off-road experience. I’ve been feasting on a bunch of off-road YouTube videos but can’t seem to find many that aren’t about Jeeps. Where’s all the PW off-roaders??? Oh, the reason I’m getting a PW instead of a Jeep is that I also have to use my vehicle to tow a 7K pound travel trailer. I also want to find a PW off-road club/group somewhere out here on the left coast to hook up with but google searches aren’t coming up with anything. Figured if anyone knew anything about this, they would be found in this forum. Thanks.

I haven't seen too many PW clubs persay, but I do know depending on the state you're in, there are PW meet ups.

I've been kicking around the idea of trying to get an AZ group together but with a newborn it's kinda fallen to the wayside.

Anyways, welcome to the craziness that is the PW life!

There is a pw Facebook group. You might find luck looking into groups that are inclusive to all 4x4 also. I have a 2500 non PW set up to off-road and here in AZ it’s tons of Jeep groups. I’ve found a couple that aren’t your typical “jeepers”. The PW peeps can lean as radical as jeep guys too lol. A group with a good mix of jeeps full-size rigs and even some custom buggies you’ll learn tons from. PW in moab is a good place to start too. I’ve seen quite a few pw here in sourthern az that are more overlandish type rigs. There’s those groups too. It’s rough man. Just gotta feel em out. Good luck!

For some reason I'm just now noticing this, but did you cut your stock bumper to make it a high clearance??

It's still clean as hell man! I've kicked around the idea of doing it to my PW cause except for AEV, there aren't many good looking off road rated bumpers. I don't like a lot of the sharp angles, to me it detracts from the body lines. There is one company, can't remember the name right now, which has a ton of tiny bends in it to flow with the body. It looks pretty badass and am pondering that one...

Here's the one I was talking about. It's by Mercenary Off Road. It's the least ugly out of the high clearance I've seen

I'm not a fan of chrome personally. Lolb2fee27aa4ccffb3efc8a983b2f3aa2d.jpg

Oh yeah. That is a nice one. I’ll check em out too. I really only like the chrome cause it looks stock. Weirdly enough I like it to look stockish. I know lifted and bigger tires hahah “stock” :crazy:

I'm the same way. I really like the AEV, but feel they could have figured a way to make a high clearance stockish looking bumper.

As for lift and tires, meh, still mostly stock IMOP. That's just become such a common mod, even from dealerships

My wife and I are probably the only ones left in the U.S. who do not have Facebook accounts, nor will we. But, as someone else mentioned, Meetup is a good place to check. I used to use Meetup to find backpacking trips. I had completely forgot about using Meetup. Thanks.

That forum initially showed promise. I hadn't lurked there in some time. I wish it were more active. But hey, we do have RamForum!

@SeaSickSailor, where are you located?
Agreed. I think most of the members there are also members here. Was expecting a little more out of that forum, still a good place, but prefer here better.

Right now I’m located on Oahu but my wife and I are moving back to the Monterey area in a couple months. We are definitely moving back but schedule and exact location are still up in the air.

PWRegistry is a great resource

it may not look as active, but it is one of the most user involved forums ive come across.

Ask a question, it gets answered by legends in the field. The people on the other end of your keyboard have so much knowledge of our platform that you can not go wrong there if you need aftermarket guidance or OEM troubleshooting.
