Got to do a little mild off-roading in the PW this weekend. Unfortunately there is very little off-roading within a couple hours of my house. Spent the weekend down at Red River Gorge in Kentucky. Mainly went down for hiking and sight seeing but was able to get the family out to do a little exploring. Check out the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway (DBBB) which are all public township roads around the Red River Gorge and Daniel Boone National Forest. They are mapped out and range from scenic single lane paved, gravel, dirt, etc... with various levels of challenge. Most of these roads are pretty mild. This particular one is listed as being dirt but "easy" on the official map. Road conditions can change quite a bit because of the weather erosion and such. I didn't think this was extreme, but I definitely would not consider it "easy" as it would be fairly challenging in a stock vehicle. I engaged both lockers with moderatlely aired down 37's and it still slipped and spun slightly crawling up this when dry.

Looks like you had a fun time.

Same here for me. Closest "off-roading" parks are 2.5hrs away but area really really small. Going anywhere legit would take most of a day just to get there. Minimum maintenance roads and pastures will have to suffice.

Which "road" was that?

I was down there for the overland expo, last year maybe?, time runs together for me now. I didn't have a ton of time, I'd like to get back there this year.

Fixer-Leeco Road. You could spend days running all of the DBBB routes. I ran several other routes on this day and nothing else even required 4wd, but some were a little rough from ruts and stuff. I had ran a couple other routes several years ago.

Just as a an additional note regarding the swaybar disconnect and lockers. My truck is a '16 with 60,000 miles. The factory lockers and swaybar disconnect work without any issues. The only thing I have done maitenance wise is changing the rear diff fluid and wiping the magnets off with a Q-Tip. Unfortunately I don't get to use the components very much but try to engage them every couple of months. On this trip I did disconnect the swaybar on the rougher roads to help with the ride a little and it disengaged within a few seconds. The hill in the picture is the only time I used both lockers. Again, I rotated the knob and they both engaged within a very short period of time.
