A buddy of mine bought LEDs that go in the hood vent on his truck. He wrecked his truck before getting a chance to put them in so gave them to me. I've messed with lighting on cars by splicing into the wires but never tapped into the fuse box before.

What I'm hoping to do if it works...
There's two color options, white and amber. I'd like to tap the amber wire to the signal lights in the fuse box and the white light to either the low beam or fog lights. I never messed with fuse taps personally before but I have seen there's two fuse slots on them. My thing is, will they work this way? I'd prefer to tap them in that way in case I get sick of them one day and want to remove them but right now, I just want to see how they would look without tapping directly into the wires. Below are the lights I'd like to try out.

Edit: Looking at the light specs, it says it's 12v and 5w

I would go the fuse tap route, and tap into the trailer hitch wire fuses. Trailer lights for the "on" with the lights, and the R/L for directional lights. That is if the hood lights are designed for that purpose.

Thanks, I'll definitely try that out. Just have to get some fuse taps and play around with them. He said the amber color can be solid or sequential turn signals.

I just inserted the two wires, bared ends, direct in the correct fuse slots and reinstalled the fuses.

I know you are probably happy with them, they just aren't my cup of tea. I hope they work out for you.
