MY radio/dvd works well for 2 minutes and 15 seconds then resets. Dealer updated latest software, but the problem still exists. I cant believe the radio needs to be replaced. THOUGHTS????

2013 Ram 1500 base radio.

Guaranteed it is a SiriusXM software problem. An incompatible update is forced down to the radio whether or not you pay for the service. They did this last year and caused a lot of headaches.
Mine started this morning. It reboots even if it is on FM.
Wait it out for a few days until they hire a decent programmer. :/
Mine is a 5.0 RA2.

Coming home from work the radio rebooted 3 times. Even though I am confident the problem is caused by some hamfisted programming I am none the less annoyed that it takes down the entire sound system. If this keeps up I might convince myself to go aftermarket.

Yes, I went to the local dealer (EWALD in Oconomowoc) and they told me the radio needed to be replaced. $750.

NO WAY!!! would I do that. in particular, the radio and CD player does work. Something else is causing this to reset.

I have a strict policy to "never shoot the messenger." SO please don't take this personally, however, given this and the other things that have broken on the truck. NO WAY will I ever get an FCA product again.

That's what I was afraid of. The dealer wants to throw parts at it because they don't know what's wrong. Do you have SXM activated?
If you want to try calling SXM tech line at least to make a complaint. They will tell you it is not them but it was last time so there's that. The number is 866-463-5326 and you get to speak with a nice person from outside the US.
I might try to call Uconnect tomorrow but it is probably a waste.
Now I wonder if this nonsense is happening to the 8.4s...
