The e-torque engine is $800 more but both V8 engines are priced as options on the limited even though the only engine option upgrade should be to add e-torque for $800. Ram’s doing this to offset their rebate pricing I believe or just waiting for enough people to call them out on it.

After you build the truck, go to summary and go to standard features. The HEMI is not listed there.

Correct it’s priced as an option so then would the standard option would be to purchase the truck without an engine? And they double-charge on the window stickers. It clearly shows the V8 is standard then they go back and charge you for the engine again in the options area. If the V6 was standard then it should show the V6 engine as standard on the window sticker and the V8 as the upgrade. If you look at window stickers for the big horn it shows the V6 is the standard engine then if you “upgrade” to the V8 it charges you the same $1195.

All of my RAM truck purchases have been factory orders on line going back to 03. My experience with the factory build site has been; one of the best build and price sites out there today. Some of the factory options cost less than aftermarket. i.e. tow mirrors, goose-neck, mats etc. But, I helped my neighbor build and price a high option truck recently. It was a bit confusing until we realized that we had some input errors and had selected options incorrectly. Once we cleaned up our selections, we found the results made sense. Also, one of the customer benefits on the RAM options is you can order some of the Larmie features for a SLT with out paying for the Larmie upgrade.

No it’s not pull any window sticker off a Ram 1500 limited and you will see it’s added to the base price. I have attached a picture of a Ram 1500 limited sticker as proof.

The way I read the window stickers are, the details between the Base Price box and the "Standard Equipment" line is stating the basics of the truck after it was built. Everything between the "Standard Equipment" line and the "Optional Equipment" line is what comes standard on the truck. So not getting charged twice for the HEMI.

Negative. Msrp on a base v8 Limited is 58985. That window sticker has the wrong base price on it. The 58985 includes the v8 and 22 inch wheels

It's not wrong its the base price (56195) plus the adds for the V8 (1195) and Advanced Safety Group (1595) equals the 58985. Base price is 56195 so that window sticker is correct!!!!

The B&P site is also screwy on the back end. I've built an identical configuration 5-6 times over the past couple of weeks and have gotten a range of different MSRPs.

I'm not sure if they're constantly updating it on the back end or if it's just glitchy.

What I'm saying is that the base price of 56195 is incorrect. Look at what all brochures say the msrp is for a 4x4 Limited.

Download the 2019 Ram 500 brochure. I did a screen grab of the Limited standard features which shows the V-6 standard but for the life of me I can't figure out how to post it.

I’m not saying you’re wrong. I’m just saying that, at the moment, you’re forced to add it. I’ll check out the brochure though. I am trying to find info on the tonneau cover and side steps some of these models are coming with. I can’t seem to find part numbers and my posts here have gone ignored lol.

Just out of curiosity, is your destination charge changing slightly when you add the ram boxes, causing the unexpected price difference?

By definition it isnt price gouging anyway - "Price gouging is a pejorative term referring to when a seller spikes the prices of goods, services or commodities to a level much higher than is considered reasonable or fair, and is considered exploitative, potentially to an unethical extent."

A - its not "much higher"
B - you can see the tools are not very reliable. the price you pay, ultimately, is determined at the time of order (or when making a deal for one on the lot).

Price gouging would be building an order for a truck at the dealer then the dealer adding random $$$ onto it for no reason. i.e. "factory says Hemi option is $2K, but we're charging $4K".

I think what is probably happening with Demons, HellCats, etc is more price gouging than the online build-a-truck tool being wrong/unreliable.

I was just building the RAM 1500 online and the RamBox is a $995 upgrade but when you add it actually adds on $1500 to the total even though it shows $995. I was at $66,040 before adding the RamBox, after adding the RamBox it equaled $67,535. Where it should have been: $67,035.

I think RAM really messed up on their pricing and I think it may be incorrect on their stickers as well. Also the Limited has only one engine option which is the V8 so that should be standard why do you pay $1195 to upgrade to the standard engine? The only upgrade should be the $800 to get to e-torque. I think RAM is price gauging their customers, and customers are not realizing.
