RAM 3500 Dually hub-cap/wheel-cover install

What is the trick to line-uo and install the hub-caps on a 3500 Longhorn Dually without breaking the little plastic tabs that are supposed to snap over the lug nuts?

There's no real trick. The plastic gets brittle from the heat and they end up breaking by the 3rd removal. I'm on my 2nd set with only 48k miles.

The trick is to keep a spare on hand. I still have a spare sitting in my shop in the box. They're relatively inexpensive and as said.. the plastic gets brittle. Just plan to replace it when it breaks.

Funny this to pop up after a couple more years. I just lost an original œm rear cap on a recent trip to Indiana. (Sorry Nissan Altima that almost wacked it) .
