I'll be honest, I test drove a 2025 hurricane, and I loved the way it accelerated. Not sure about long term longevity and all that, but I liked the way it ran new. Only thing I can really say I liked a lot about that truck - I'd still rather my old 4th gen overall. I'm not sold on the 5th gen, I'm sorry to say and with no offense to anyone.

I am unhappy with all the emissions/krappola on my new /24 Cummins Ram 2500 Limited…. I’ve only got 15K miles on it… There’s absolutely nothing wrong with it….. Yet.
It’s a fun thing to drive…but I’d take a $25K loss on it to trade it for a Hemi-equipped Ram …IF … IF it didn’t have E-torque.

Did I see somewhere that you cannot even check the oil in the Hurricane engine?

You get to ask the computer to do it for you.

And it true Stellantis electrical system fashion: It isn't always reliable. Lots of reports of adding oil, reading 1/2 quart low or the like, then a week later or so it magically decides it's full despite no more oil being added. If you'd topped it off, now you'd be over. Or maybe it's really 1/2 quart low and now thinks it isn't. How do you know?

So much better than a dipstick because....well, why, exactly?

2500s don't have etorque.

Well, yeah.

If someone wanted to replace a 2500 diesel with a new 2500, guess what the base engine is...

A 6.4L Hemi HD motor. Which doesn't have etorque.
Yeah, whatever bud. Your interpretation is different from mine.

There's nothing to interpret unless you need spoon fed that the 6.4L is in 2500s and is a hemi. You just wanted to jump in and be clever, ****** it, and now need to save face. Do ever add anything of value or do you just enjoy ******** in every thread you post in?

Well smart guy, since he mentioned eTorque I figured he was referring to a 1500.

Why would you replace a 2500 limited with a 1500? Ick.

Look, I apologize. I stand by my message, but I delivered it poorly.

Buy what you like, but I have always preferred a N/A engine with large displacement over a small engine with forced air intake.

I don't have, and it looks like I don't want, a newer Cummins Ram 2500. I don't care for all that krappola I don't have warranty so I don't have all that crap. lol That being said I would look for ways to make it I love how this engine works when it is not hog tied

Maybe he doesn’t need a 2500 anymore.

Maybe. I also know he already has a 1500 from other posts, former SSV from a sheriff's office, because I'd discussed it with him in another thread.

Either way, if you want a new Ram with a Hemi and no etorque, the option exists in replacing the diesel truck he mentioned with it's current gas equivalent. I don't really "need" a 2500, but they don't make a 1500 in the configuration I want, so 2500 it is. No stop/start and a real truck bed are worth the fuel economy penalty to me. Same as I don't "need" the power of my Camaro, but vehicles aren't appliances for a lot of us so "need" isn't really the question as much as "want" or "enjoy".

Ram 2500 is best riding in the biz. I'm really glad I got one. And I'm not just saying that to make you feel better.

Love my truck but, if it ever needs replacing, it won’t be with another Ram.
