Got the factory soft tri-fold on yesterday and my "deluxe" car wash exposed the leaks. Seemed like a little more at the tailgate edges than my previous 2013 cover but what surprised me was the seeping from behind my cargo management factory rails, didn't have that before. I've seen some aftermarket covers include some sort of weather seal tape backing for the factory rails but not sure where to get it or what kind it is. Otherwise, for the price of the cover (with 15% coupon) I'm OK with this one.

Only reason I don’t have the Ram Box is b/c I use my truck mostly for travel. I need to carry luggage in the bed. I looked at a lot of tonneaus before buying the truck. The only thing anyone would gaurantee me about Ram Box tonneaus is that they would leak. I’ve had Undercover tonneaus on my “03” and “17”. Ordering another for my “19” I just bought. Countless car washes and rainstorms. Never a drop got through.

I do wish someone would design a watertight tonneau for the Ram Box though. I’d love to have one.

I've got the same problem with my 2025 limited longhorn. The cover is narrower than the tailgate and there is about a 4" long, 3/4" gap between the tailgate and the truck bed on each side. I can actually see the truck bed through the gaps. I am going to try auto weather stripping in these gaps to see if it at least reduces the amount of water that gets in while trying to avoid having them interfere with opening and closing the tailgate. Anyone else tried anything that worked?

On my current ‘22 1500 with the MFT, it has large gaps at the tailgate area. I actually bought sealing strips with adhesive to stick between the bed and tailgate to seal it. It helped a lot, but I still get some wetness there.
My previous 1500’s ( all had Ramboxes ) without the MFT did have a much tighter gap. All had the ReTrax rolling covers.
Even so, I love the MFT. My next truck will have it too!

My 2025 has the factory soft trifold and i have never had anything get wet in the bed in major storms. I do not do auto car washes though.

I put a Truxedo Sentry cover on both my '18 and '22 2500's with Ramboxes. Both leak. I didn't expect them not to. I've had non-Rambox trucks with covers and they leaked too.

Hi SBMike,

There is a solution to solve that gap, it is called RamSeal and it is MOPAR licensed and approved to seal that gap. This is a solid part so it will last unlike weatherstripping.

There is a Facebook group by that name and the website is www.ramseal.net
