HELP! 4th gen Ram 1500. Rambox locked won’t open.
What is the best way to open a rambox when the lock is broke AND it’s locked? Do I have to push a coat hanger up through the water plug and hope to grab the emergency handle?
I tried with the key. No luck. I can hear the mechanism working but I assume it’s broken in the locked position.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you have an idea about what the latch looks like and it's operation it's pretty simple with a coat hanger.

Reference this post for pictures and another idea about how to open a locked Ram box...

I don’t have an air bladder like the poster mentioned. I was hoping for an alternative solution

some possible fix videos

I googled something similar but none of the results show how to unlock a stuck/locked Rambox. I was hoping someone on here would have experienced this same issue and had a good solution.
I read the thread about using an air bladder. Got any idea what that is and how it was used?

The air bladder is what is used in a lockout kit to open doors when people lock their keys inside. The air bladder slips in between the door seal and when pump up it spreads the door away from the body so you can reach inside with the long tool to pull the door handle or even reach the lock/unlock buttons.

If you can open the other side remove the cover for the latch and take a look at how it operates and how you need to grab the unlock handle and make a coat hanger with a hook and pull the handle and see if the latch will release.

Does your key turn the tumbler or is something blocking it? Can you open the other side?

Anything you can inflate (pool toy, tire tube) can be used as an air bladder if that's what you need.

UPDATE
I was finally able to get it opened with my key. The first day I tried it wouldn’t work. Maybe it was hung up in there? Anyway, it’s now open and I will diagnose. Most likely it’s the plastic clips that broke
