I’m having a really weird issue with my 2012 Ram1500 Laramie with a 5.7. When I’m driving the engine will shut off and everything goes black for a few seconds then comes back on and I can shift into neutral and the truck starts right up. Sometimes it does it once other times it will do it up to 3 or 4 times then it’s fine. It doesn’t do it all the time, there was a 3.5 week gap in between it doing it most recently. I have the lifetime warranty but I’m trying to avoid having to deal with the local incompetent dealer. Has anyone else had this issue? I’ve been told by a reputable local mechanic that it’s more than likely either a bad ignition switch or bad TIPM. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
