Hey guys, I need your help... again [emoji45]
The rear differential in my truck (9.25”) is leaking ever since I opened it to change my rear wheel bearings and seals. I used a Felpro gasket instead of RTV and I’ve noticed a puddle underneath the diff and even noticed a dripping bead of diff fluid. I did the job ~two weeks ago and ~ a week ago I went back and tightened the bolts again and its still leaking. Any suggestions? I still have an adequate amount of diff fluid because when I open the fill cap fluid pours out.
Thanks!

Yea I did the whole procedure properly. I can go back and try to tighten the bolts more but I believe I tightened them adequately. ‍♂️

What i meant was you may have to do it this way, with RTV no gasket. I was told years ago not to use a gasket. And if you tighten it too tight it will pinch the gasket and leak.

Also if you tighten it too tight you will snap off the bolt heads. I've learned the hard way.

I don’t think its actually leaking from the diff gasket. I noticed that the back off the diff housing closer to the drive shaft is wet. It wouldn’t make sense that it was leaking from the cover gasket then cause the fluid cant travel upwards due to gravity.

That would be your pinion seal leaking.
