2006 2500 - After changing my failing lock cylinder. All keys are able to start the truck, but only one key can operated the remote entry at any given time and only for a few hours before a different key is then allowed to operate the remote.
I changed batteries in my original keys #1 and #2. When that did not resolve the issue, I bought 2 new keys (#3 & #4) on AZ and programmed them using the 2 original keys self learning procedure. All keys start the truck every time but I have to carry keys #1 and #3 on my key chain. When #1 opens and locks the truck, #3 won’t, then randomly #1 stops operating the remote which means that #3 will. Never fails.
The remote operation on the door switch always works.
I would like to avoid the local dealer as much as possible given terrible prior experience with them. Any suggestions would be welcome..
