I have experienced this happening 4 times now at random locations in random conditions. Once while sitting at an intersection and 2 times while just driving, the other time was while turning right hand from a stop.
Vehicle just totally dies, as if there was no electrical. Dash goes dead, wont start, no power.....but then will start to come back to life. Key will turn, but cant remove key. After about 1-2 minutes, truck starts like nothing wrong. WTF?

Check all your battery connection to the B+ and ALL the grounds.

A DVM to measure voltage drop will be your best friend, after checking ALL connections for cleanliness and tightness.

I have a 2017 ram 1500 at about 180,000 miles. My alternator went out when I replaced it. My truck started doing the same thing. It started out once in a while and now it’s every day at least once a day and sometimes it last for as long as a minute while I’m driving and once in a while, the electronic steering goes out also and it’s hard to control. I’ve done a lot of research and I’m quite stumped.

I have checked my tipm for corrosion or loose connections or any wires that may of gotten hot and melted. I found nothing I checked all my connections going into my PCM. Can’t find anything with the connections are good and tight. Also it tells me that i have no air in my rear two tires I replace the sensors with factory ones and nothing. It also tells me that I have a low-voltage but I have a separate voltage meter in my pick up and it runs at 14 to 14.4 all the time as I have an upgraded alternator due to my stereo, I replaced a smart sensors for the battery and nothing also it still tells me the same thing so I’m a little frustrated. Also with all these issues and it all started when my factory alternator went out.

Did you check all of your ground connections?

With dash lights going out, it sure seems like a ground issue.
