2017 1500, bought as a rebuilt/salvage title truck. Mostly happy with the rebuild but rust has started on the bottom of drivers door. Rest of doors and body just fine. Determined that builder had used a door from a 2013 donor and the extra years of Michigan winters are what is causing the rust. I love this truck and plan to keep, upgrade, update, modify, and keep for LONG TIME. First order of business is to replace this rusting door with a new one. 2 questions for the forum
1-has anyone had a body shop do such a thing and what did it cost?
2-has anyone ever seen or done a door swap? Please indicate costs, time, and any issues to look out for if I undertake this.
