Has anyone installed additional reverse lights on the 5th Gen ? I have a Laramie and I find the lights really do not have much output.

JB1 had a nice setup on his truck, he added some Rigid Ignite diffused LEDs onto his tow hitch that came on with his reverse lights.

Or you can get a LED light bar with a reverse light on it.

Are the Laramie lights LED or normal bulbs?
I put better bulbs (incandescent) in my 2016 and it really lights it up back there for backing up now.

Mine are led but they dont light up the area behind as much as I would like. I am planning to add extra lighting under the back bumper somewhere if I dont trade for a new truck soon. I am not that happy with headlights either. they light things up far out ahead but they dont seem to light up much of the area right in front of me so I also run the fog lights if I am on the rural roads.

I was just thinking about this same thing a week ago. I have a 2021 2500 Limited. I was thinking about adding one RIGID Industries D-series LED floodlight on the rear bumper next to the license plate, in the foot well recess of the bumper. Just to the left of the license plate as you look at it. It would be out of the way of my foot if I used that step, towing, or the gate being down. I have a bed-step installed anyway. I don't like the look of them hanging below the bumper nor do I want to shave and french cut them into the bumper. I plan to power it off one of the factory accessory switches on my dash. I really would like two so I may re-think this whole plan out.

I upgraded the bulbs in my 2019 to LED from Alla Lighting. It was a little bit better. I noticed a much larger difference when I added the Diode Dynamics Hitchmount light. Takes 2 minutes to install and can be removable.
