Well this happened today. I pulled off the distributor and it was all original and in need of a full rebuild. so I did what any sane person would do. drop 600$ on new **** that dosent require maintenance.

Getting all the stupid green spray paint off and the patina it was hiding is perfect. 1500 grit pad and linseed oil.

Visor center support and hubcap clips just cleared customs

This thing will be an awesome summer cruiser.

Got the goodies installed today

This was my first time installing a 6v electronic distributor. Glad I read the instructions...lol. it's nothing like what I'm used to on 12v systems.

No key power to coil. It's straight to the distributor and from the distributor to NEG side of coil. And POS side of coil is to ground.

Starts right up now. Should be good for another 80years.

All new bushings, pins , shackles and even took 2 more leafs off the pack to get a better stance.

After seeing this mess, I ordered all the ones for the rear.

So new triple core Aluminum Rad, inline block heater , and like all my vehicles good old fleet coolant.

If you're gonna use it in the winter i'd also stick an oilpan heater on it. It's not cold anti-freeze that makes them hard to start,it's cold oil.

Its in cold storage for winter. Wont be driving it. Just want it to be plugged in so when it hits below -20 it will kick in the smart plug.

Will do a 60/40 mix on antifreeze as well.

Old girl is back on the road

Had to heat up the subframe on both side for clearance, as they no longer make those model radiator . And I fitted a newer style 1950 truck one.

Finally got my Holley 94 rebuilt kit from Vintage Speed in Florida so I rebuilt my Carb and Fuel pump today . A quick bath in the ultrasonic cleaner made them look new,

Finally got some tunes. Made a simple magnetic bracket. Ran a USB cable to the glovebox so I can recharge it with a battery bank.

Was able to finish it this morning, Might as well put in some finishing practice before the cab. Got my metal to metal applied. I'm hoping to have it primed after supper.
