Hello Everyone,

I just bought a 2018 Ram 1500. I've been looking to install a Roll Bar, however; most of the products require drilling. I know drilling obviously secures it to the body but I am worried about rust issues.

Does anyone know of one that doesn't require drilling? Have you had any issues driving it?

Or if drilling isn't an issue, have you had any rust problems? I live in NJ, so there's a ton of rain.

Please post pictures!!!!

I had to drill a few holes to mount my roll bar to the bed. I simply sprayed the areas with a can of spray on bed liner before and best I could after the install.

Paint what you drill with POR15. Cover up with topcoat if exposed to UV light.

Use said paint for undercarriage as well. What good is rusted out fenders and undercarriage.

Also, there is a rubber piece between the bed and the cab. Take that thing off as it only promotes rust.

As stated above just paint over the drill hole and then put some roofing seam sealer between the bar and truck bed you’ll be fine. It’s looks like rolled black tape and it has an self adhesive back.
