Does anyone have any tips for running wires through the rubber boot in the door? With it all covered up under the dash I'm not even sure what has to be removed to access the opening.

What I want to do is tap the dome light feed wire (which I already located) and run a hot and ground into both front doors to add some led convenience/puddle lights into the bottom of the door panel. Or I may install those little projector lights that project a Rams head or Mopar logo onto the ground when the doors open.

Better yet, is there already puddle light wires in the door for the optional mirror puddle lights? I don't have them, just the heated power mirrors.

I forgot to add - It looks like the rubber boot has two torx screws connecting it to the door. I don't see any on the truck side. Does it peal back or are there screws under the dash?

On my 96 the rubber boots just pop in and out.
Sounds like you need to remove the screws to pull them out.
If you take the door skin off you may find an extra wire for puddle lights.
If not try to get to your door switch, not sure where yours is.

Pretty easy to do just not alot of room. Start with you door panel off, pull the rubber boot off of the plug on the body of the truck. Once you get that off you will see four tabs that hold the plastic connector in the jam. Try to push those clips down to pull the plastic connector from the jam. Then you will be able to see some gaps to run your wires inside that plastic peice.

To remove the boot on the door take the 2 torx screws out and you will see that you can run the wires behind that boot.

When you go to put the plastic connector back in the body make sure you put the rubber boot back on before you try to snap it back into the body.

Hope that helps sorry no pictures.
