I threw in a K&N and put the exhaust priority for upgrade. Glad I did!

Vararam Hands down. They dynode a 2015 Ram 1500 with the Vararam and it added 18 hp to the rear tires. If they would have had fans blowing into the intake it would have been more hp. love mine. I can see a difference.

If you don't have snow to deal with, Vararam. If you do, the S&B is close in power gains with possibly better build quality.

Who is they and I HIGHLY doubt anyone saw an 18whp increase with a dyno and a Vararam. Sorry but if that is the case, I could take off my intake tube at the track and just run a open TB and get the same results. The stock intake is not a bad design at all. The placebo effect is pretty strong with some who claim that its a huge difference.

I do not see any evidence that the according style intake tube is hurting performance on these trucks. If it was forced induction, sure, but there are TONS of LS powered cars that use this style of tube and then run a smooth tube and nobody can even notice difference in power or fuel economy. I want an S&B for two reasons, it looks nice and it also has an extra duct that the factory box doesn't have that runs down towards the front of the truck to "grab" more air, but more than anything it is a great source of engine noise lol.

The Vararam is a cool design no doubt, and it is possible that at highway speeds or faster, that the air can be "helped" in some by the "ram air" to achieve a few ponies. That's all I can speculate for unless there is hard evidence on the differential pressures inHg compared to stock and a Vararam at different speeds and engine loads.

Just my .02 I had a vararam on my truck. It looked cool when I held the one side to get it to be level. The flap I couldn't get tight. It was not that noticeable on volume. I sold mine. Wasn't happy with it. Looking at maybe the s/b

My buddy was at Vararams dyno of a 14 stock Ram with the Vararam in it. It added 18rwhp. And this was done with no fan. So when moving im sure it would be higher. It's a forced air induction intake unlike the other CAI's. I put one on my 14 Sport along with true dual exhaust, 87mm ported throttle body and Diablo with a custom tune and it made a nice difference. More so in the mid to high rpm range.

I got rid of the vararam because I live in a very dusty area and found the filter was getting full pretty quick. I was more worried about snow getting into the filter but didn't come across that problem. I replaced it with the S&B. I had one before so I knew what I was getting. I don't get as good a pull from the S&B in the mid to high RPM's as I did with the Vararam.

Do you have video proof? I'm sorry I'm not convinced that it made THAT much difference. I can see it making a small difference on the highway but that's about it.

It snows around here in the winter time a lot so get the s&b and how good is it for throttle and hp gains

It knocked off around a half second off my 0-60. That's proof enough for me. And my buddy is looking for the video he took when he was there. Not sure how you can dispute it when you haven't even owned one. Vararam is proven on the track.

Had no issues with snow getting in it up here in Canada. Throttle response is much better and like I said in my previous post....18rwhp gain on a stock 14 Ram. Proven on the dyno

These guys are just looking to argue about something they don't have a clue about. You had one and I have one. I know after I put mine in I felt a lot more pull on take off and on the highway. So you guys get what you want.

Aint Freedom Great?

Buy it, don't buy it... I could give a rats ass either way. Go do some research. You might learn something but doubt it.

I have done research, just because people "feel" a difference doesn't mean there actually is one. How about research what the placebo effect is. You might learn something but doubt it.
