Service tire pressure system

2012 Ram 1500 Express, my sons now. He text me and said his tire light was on. But what it says is the tpms system needs service. The screen that shows the tire pressure stays on all the time. Any ideas where to start? I hooked up my tuner to see if that would clear it and it didn’t, I watched a video where it said to hold down the trip button and turn to acc for a minute but that didn’t clear it either.

Maybe the batteries are weak in the wheel sensors . Have the sensors ever been replaced ?

Take it to a tire shop and have them scan the TPMS sensors. The batteries only last 8-10 years. It is likely the wheel sensors need to be replaced.

No the wheel sensors are original. It is giving me psi on all 4 tires but I don’t know if it’s correct.

Yeah I think. With the warmer weather the tires added air pressure and got too high. I let some air out and the error cleared and hasn’t been back on. Didn’t know too much pressure would cause an issue.

Also had the tires rotated so they may have aired them up too. I have Copper SST on it

I had nothing but issues with my TPMS in my 2012. I just turned it off with Alpha ODB... lol... Problem solved !

Damm I need to do it on my truck!! I have to get a hold a alpha OBD
